"The Melvin You Knew"

He Was One Of A Kind

Some men are born with a special gift
To encourage lame men to be swift,
And bear a burden too few can lift.
The Lord gives the world such men
To help others dream again.
Melvin was one of a kind!

There are men who could call him friend,
Who found that they could always depend
On a friendship that would never end.
Although our friend is now gone,
His inspiration lives on.
Melvin was one of a kind!

He had a dry wit and rugged charm,
An easy smile that was quick and warm,
And support that kept his friends from harm.
His heart was as big and free
As the man he grew to be.
Melvin was one of a kind!

The greatest thing about this good man
Is that he embraced Salvation's Plan,
And served as only a Christian can.
He practiced his faith each day
In his private, humble way.
Melvin was one of a kind!

Men like Melvin never really die,
For he has now gone to live on high,
Where the saints will join him bye and bye.
He leaves a big vacant chair,
But he will always be there.
Melvin was one of a kind!
