Paper Chase

For most couples, starting a family involves planning, pregnancy, and childbirth. But the road of life doesn’t always take you the way you expect.

In 1996, we came to the fork in the road. The plan all along had been to take the usual path. But medical and genetic issues soon made it clear that our journey to becoming a family was not going to go the usual route. So we chose the road less traveled; adoption. And as Frost said, “…that has made all the difference.”

This is a brief description of our journey. It discusses the paperwork involved, the home study, travel overseas, and our lives today with our children.

If you are visiting this site to learn about international adoption, keep in mind that our experiences were several years ago. The requirements frequently change. Contact a qualified agency to learn the most current requirements.

In Memory of Pamela

As stated above, life doesn't always take you where you expect. This site was originally created in 2004. In 2007, the worst happened. Pamela, my loving wife of 20 years and the mother of our precious girls, died suddenly after a devastating infection. Life is fragile. Live each day as if it were your last. Tell the people that you love that you love them. Do it today. You might not have another chance.
